Did You Know?
We Are Not Part of the ASPCA.
We do something they don’t:
We investigate animal cruelty!
We operate Nassau County’s only 24-hour animal abuse hotline, and our Humane Law Enforcement Officers are all dedicated volunteers. Our officers investigate cruelty, educate the community, enforce laws, rescue animals, and make arrests when needed.
Fighting animal cruelty has always brought significant financial challenges, but now due to bail reform, we no longer receive any asset-forfeiture funding to offset the enormous expenses tied to these case. The burden is heavier than ever.
We need your support to continue investigating crimes against animals.
Keep your donation dollar working to protect animals in your own community.

The Nassau County SPCA is dedicated to the investigation of animal cruelty, the rescue, care and placement of abused animals. We offer resources for pet owners, assist in the care and placement of homeless pets, enforce animal cruelty laws, educate to prevent animal cruelty and serve the victims of animal cruelty. Your local SPCAs, like us operate independently and rely heavily on private donations and corporate support.
We receive NO funding from the ASPCA or taxpayers.
Help make the lives better for pets and animals in your own community.
